Glycolic Acid Skin Care What to Expect Glycolic Acid Skin Care
You may experience - Initial stinging or tingling sensation when applying your products. This is temporary and will decrease with time.
- Temporary dryness or flaking can be resolved with an enzyme exfoliater that will not irritate the skin, located to the right in the “Featured-Items” column.
Signs that the glycolic acid formulation is to strong or initially applying too much product too often are:
- Your skin is still stinging or burning 3-4 minutes after application.
- Shedding skin at the rate of you consider undesirable.
- Red, blotchy skin, sensitive to other cosmetic products.
- Burns when you perspire.
- Skin feels uncomfortable or seems to be tight or dry.
- The skin is thinner than the rest of the face around the eyes, nose, mouth and neck. The sides of the nose and corners of the mouth may become irritated if too much glycolic acid is applied too often in the initial adjustment phase of the program. The eye area may start looking wrinkled, crinkled or dry as a result of using too much, too soon. Reducing your applications in these areas ONLY until the skin adjusts will take care of the problem. These areas will catch up with the rest of the face, so all areas have the same application schedule.
Should any of these occur, please discontinue use and contact me to adjust your program.
