How long before the brown marks improves?

Skin Problems
Depigmentation is not immediate since hydroquinone interferes only with the formation of new melanin. Dark areas should start improving within three weeks if the area has not cleared by three months do not repurchase the product and consult a physician. IMPORTANT: The brown areas will turn darker as the brown pigment moves toward the surface. The bleaching products are "unroofing" the skin so the dark color is more visible to the naked eye. This dark color sloughs off beneath is lighter skin. Hydroquinone, common bleaching ingredient, is a white crystalline phenol that can occur in nature causing depigmentation in a 2% solution. Topical application produces a reversible depigmentation by inhibition of the enzymatic oxidation of tyrosine and suppression of other melanocyte metabolic processes. Exposure to sunlight or other aggravators will cause repigmentation and should be avoided.

For faster results wash with a 12% glycolic acid cleanser and apply a 12-15% glycolic acid or retnoid product over the surface of the bleaching product. You must wear a sunblock on the area every day.

You may have to continually wear a bleaching product for control or periodically reapply for maintenance.
